The base is provided with a precision-drilled hole to securely accommodate the support rod. The stand is fitted with a 12.5 mm diameter mild steel (M.S.) rod, chrome plated for a smooth finish and rust protection. One end of the rod is half-round finished, while the other end is machine threaded and supplied with a washer and hexagonal nut to ensure firm and vibration-free fixing to the base.
